Driver Faces Charges After Officers In Region Witness Passengers Riding On Top Of Car A man who was arrested on weapons offenses in Western Massachusetts earlier this year is facing new charges after becoming combative with officers attempting to interview him after he was caught driving with a friend riding on the hood of a car. Officers from the Springfield Police Department in Hampden County spotted a man riding on the hood of a moving car at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6 with a second sitting on the sunroof of the vehicle while a third was leaning out the passenger side window recording the scene on a phone, prompting a traffic stop.
