Woman Struck By Several Vehicles While Crossing Busy CT Roadway, Police Say
A 43-year-old Connecticut woman was killed after she was struck by multiple vehicles while crossing a busy roadway. The incident took place in New Haven County in Orange around 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14 on Boston Post Road in front of McDonald's. Responding officers found the victim lying in the roadway with multiple traumatic injuries, said Assistant Chief Max Martins of the Orange Police Department. Man Charged In Crash That Kills 22-Year-Old Hanging Out Of Sunroof In Bridgeport
A 22-year-old Connecticut man has died following a crash while he was hanging out of the sunroof while standing in the backseat of the car. Windham County resident Miguel Angel Rodriguez, of Willimantic, died on Sunday, June 25, hours after the crash in New Haven County on Derby Avenue in Orange. A dozen people were hospitalized in Connecticut after a transit bus was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The crash took place in New Haven County around 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, in the town of Orange on Route 34 near the intersection with Racebrook Road. An initial investigation revealed that a Connecticut Transit bus was stopped for a red light when it was hit from the rear by a pickup truck, said the Orange Police Department. Connecticut State Police reported that a significant number of firearms were seized following a long-term investigation into illegal "ghost guns" trafficking. Search warrants were executed in New Haven County, in Shelton, Waterbury, and Wolcott, on Monday, March 21, as part of the investigation of the trafficking in the greater Waterbury area, according to Connecticut State Police. A Connecticut man who was found asleep inside a school bus was allegedly busted with more than 11 pounds of marijuana. New Haven County resident Brendan O'Connor, age 55, of Milford, was arrested shortly after 5 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 19, after employees of a local school bus company arrived for work to find a suspicious vehicle parked in the bus yard, said the Orange Police Department. Animal Cruelty Case Discovered Following New Haven County Dogfighting Investigation, Police Say
An investigation into dogfighting in Connecticut in July has led investigators to uncover a new animal cruelty case. Connecticut State Police reported that a search warrant was executed at 109 Britannia St. in the New Haven County Town of Meriden on Saturday, July 31.
