A 40-year-old Connecticut mother is accused of leaving her four children — ages 11, 6, 4, and 3 — alone in an apartment filled with trash, feces, and filth with no food or clothing while she went to New York, authorities said.
Lindsey Powell, of Vernon in Tolland County, was arrested and charged on Monday, Nov. 18, with four counts of risk of injury to a minor, police said.

A Connecticut man will be charged with the murder of his wife after she was found lying dead on a city street, a victim of domestic violence, police said.
The incident took place in New Haven County around 10:20 a.m., Tuesday, April 26 in Waterbury on Willow Street.
The victim, identified as Moesha Panton, was found when Waterbury police responded to an assault complaint in the area of Willow Street at Roseland Avenue, said Lt. Ryan Bessette, of the Waterbury Police.

A 4-year-old girl missing since 2019 has been found hidden in a cold, wet enclosure under a staircase in a Hudson Valley home.
Paislee Shultis was reported missing from Cayuga Heights, near Ithaca, in Tompkins County, New York, in 2019, before being located in Ulster County on Valentine's Day, Monday, Feb. 14.

A Fairfield County school speech and language pathologist has been arrested after police say she allegedly fell asleep and was possibly drunk while teaching a student.
The incident took place around 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 23, when Westport Police were called to Greens Farms Elementary School for a report of a possibly impaired staff member, said Lieutenant David Wolf, of the Westport Police Department.
According to Wolf, detectives learned that Michelle Babin, age 32, of Shelton, fell asleep while instructing a student.

After learning that a young New England girl has not been seen in two years, police have launched a massive investigation into her whereabouts.
Harmony Montgomery, who was 5 years old when she was last seen in 2019, in Manchester, New Hampshire, was reported missing to police by both the Department of Children, Youth and Families, and individuals.
