Storm With Damaging Winds Knocks Out Power To Thousands In CT
A potent storm system packed with damaging winds has knocked out power to thousands in Connecticut.
At around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, Eversource reported around 3,400 customers with power statewide, and United Illuminated another 55.
The most outages are in the following locations: Union (354), Wilton (221), West Hartford (216), Ridgefield (199), New Milford (145), Thompson (137), Greenwich (127), and Weston (101).
The storm, ignited by a strong frontal system, has now pushed out off the East Coast.

Tornado Watch Issued For Much Of Region, With 60 MPH Wind Gusts, Hail Also Possible
As a slow-moving storm system barrels through the Northeast, a Tornado Watch has now been issued for much of the region until 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16.
It includes parts of southeastern New York -- Long Island, as well as Westchester, and Putnam counties -- as well as all eight counties in Connecticut, and the following counties in Massachusetts: Berkshire, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, and Worcester.

Rapid Freeze To Follow New Round Of Rain, Gusty Winds As Cold Front Arrives
A new round of rain and wind from a massive storm system will accompany a cold front that will push through the region Friday afternoon, Dec. 23, leading to a dramatic drop in temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.
With blizzard-like conditions in much of the Midwest, more than 1,000 flights have been canceled as of early Thursday morning. Nationally, over there have been over a million power outages.

The system will arrive in this region in the early to mid afternoon Thursday, April 14, with scattered storm activity lasting at times until the late evening, according to the National Weather Service.

A new storm system will sweep through the region bringing scattered thunderstorms, gusty winds, rain, and showers.
Saturday, April 9 will be mostly cloudy with a high temperature in the mid 50s.
The system is expected to arrive in the mid-afternoon Saturday, according to the National Weather Service, which noted some of the storms could produce small hail. Wind gusts of around 20 miles per hour are expected.
