A woman who was clocked going more than 100 miles per hour along Route 2 with her two young children in the car told police she was speeding because she needed to heed the call of nature, authorities said.
Brianna Guerin, 21, of New London, is charged with driving with no insurance, reckless driving, risk of injury to a child (two counts), and reckless endangerment in the second degree, Connecticut State Police said.
Police spotted Guerin just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, on Route 2 in Marlborough driving at 109 miles per hour in a 65-mph zone, authorities said. …

A 20-year-old Connecticut man and his 16-year-old passenger were killed after they crashed into a tree.
The crash took place in Hartford County around 1:50 a.m., on Sunday, July 16 in Glastonbury.
According to Lt. Anthony Pagliughi, of the Glastonbury Police, officers responded to the 1100 block of Manchester Road for a report of a crash involving a car into a tree.

A Connecticut man and a teen have been arrested for the alleged kidnapping, carjacking, and brutal beating of a woman from a supermarket parking lot last year.
On Tuesday, March 1, state police arrested Kenneth Gordon, age 20, of Hartford, and a 16-year-old boy following a five-month investigation into the events which took place at the Big Y parking lot in Marlborough on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2021.

Fire Causes 'Catastrophic Damage' To CT Residence
A two-story, two-family home in Connecticut suffered "catastrophic" damage during a raging fire, according to state police.
The incident took place around 2:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 12, at the home located in Middlesex County at 123 Falls Road, in the Moodus section of East Haddam.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from the family residence, said the East Haddam Fire Department.
