1 Rescued From CT River After Kayak Capsizes
One person was rescued from a Connecticut river after their kayak capsized as dusk approached. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 7:50 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, in the Quinnipiac River in North Haven. According to North Haven Fire Chief Paul Januszewski, the department responded to the river for the report of a kayak that had capsized with people in the water. Man Found Dead Floating In CT Lake
Police are investigating after a man's body was found floating in a lake in Connecticut. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 11:15 a.m., Monday, April 15, at Lake Whitney in Hamden, near Hartford Turnpike and Rogers Road. According to Capt. Anthony Diaz of the Hamden Police officers responded to the scene and found the man, who was dead. Diaz said Hamden Fire Department personnel removed him from the water and took him to the Medical Examiner's Office. A preliminary investigation did not show any signs of trauma. Space Heater Ignites Fire, Causing Significant Damage To CT Home
A Connecticut home was significantly damaged after a space heater ignited a fire over the weekend. The Hamden Fire Department in New Haven County reported that firefighters responded to the blaze on Smith Drive at about 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, March 27. Dispatchers had received numerous calls from neighbors about the fire, and responding firefighters saw the blaze from a rear bedroom window. Woman Dies In CT Apartment Fire
A woman was killed during a fire at an apartment building that started in a third-floor unit in Connecticut. The blaze began around 8:20 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 14, at the complex located at 95 Kaye Vue Plaza, in Hamden. First arriving firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from a third-floor window, according to Hamden Fire Chief Gary Merwede.
