CT Prison Guard Charged With Assaulting Elderly Inmate
A Connecticut prison guard turned himself over to police earlier this week after authorities accused him of assaulting an elderly inmate earlier this year, police said. Todd Blevons, 42, of Uncasville, was charged with assault in the third degree on an elderly person, Connecticut State Police said on Thursday, Nov. 21. Police began investigating Blevons after an inmate at Corrigan Correctional Center in Montville accused him of using excessive force in April, authorities said. CT Town Official Charged With Sexual Assault; Placed On Paid Administrative Leave
A public health coordinator for a town in Middlesex County turned himself over to police on charges of sexual assault, authorities announced on Monday, Nov. 4. Salvatore Nesci, 55, is charged with sexual assault in the fourth degree and disorderly conduct, Cromwell Police said. He was arrested on Halloween after he turned himself over to police. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond, authorities said. Police did not detail what led to the charges or any information about the case. Police are accusing a secretary at a Connecticut high school of using the administration's Amazon account to spend more than $40,000 over five years on gifts for herself and other employees at the Tolland County school, authorities said. Christine Vardanian, age 56, of Marlborough in Hartford County, is charged with first-degree larceny, Connecticut State Police said on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Hartford Police Officer Accused Of 'Slapping' Prisoner In Face While In Hospital, Cops Say
A Connecticut police officer was charged with breach of peace after he allegedly slapped a prisoner who was handcuffed to a hospital bed. Hartford Police Officer Marcello Confeiteiro was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 28, and released on a promise to appear. According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert, Confeiteiro was guarding a prisoner on Thursday, July 18, at an area hospital when the prisoner -- who at the time had one arm handcuffed to a hospital bed -- assaulted him by punching and spitting in his face.
