Trapped Driver Rescued After I-95 Crash In Westport
A driver was extricated during an overnight crash on a stretch of I-95 in Connecticut. It happened just before 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, in Westport, northbound between exits 17 and 18. According to Westport Fire Department Assistant Chief Brian Meadows, when engines arrived, one vehicle with heavy damage was pinned under the guard rail, with one occupant still inside. Man Charged In Westport Smash-Grab Jewelry Store Robbery
A Fairfield County man has been charged in connection with a smash-and-grab robbery in which the thieves made off with an unknown quantity of jewels. On Wednesday, May 29, Westport Police arrested 30-year-old Bridgeport resident Javon Thorbourne in connection with the case on Thursday, May 9, at the Lux, Bond, and Green at 136 Main St. According to Lt. Woman Charged For Writing 'Save Gaza' On Westport Crosswalk
A Fairfield County woman was charged with criminal mischief for spray painting "Save Gaza" on a crosswalk. The incident occurred in Westport on Thursday, May 23, on the crosswalk at Post Road East in the area of Main Street. According to Lt. Matthew Gouveia of the Westport Police, a Bridgeport resident identified as Katerina Hasiotis inked the words, which caused damage and resulted in temporary repairs being made.
