A Connecticut man with outstanding warrants was arrested over the weekend following a tense confrontation with state police, authorities said.
Maxx Gallup, 26, and another man were spotted walking along the southbound shoulder of Route 32 around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, near Alice Street in Windham, while wearing all black, Connecticut state police said. A convicted felon with a history of robbery charges is back behind bars after allegedly robbing a Connecticut Wells Fargo bank, authorities said.
Thomas Hopkins, 57, of Waterbury, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree threatening, and second-degree larceny, police said on Monday, Nov. 18.
Hopkins is accused of robbing the Wells Fargo at 800 Wolcott St. in Waterbury around 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, police said. He walked in and told employees he had a gun and demanded cash; however, he never showed the weapon.
