Man Dies After Falling In, Being Pulled From Lake In Fairfield County Police have identified a 76-year-old man who died at the hospital after falling into Candlewood Lake in Fairfield County, authorities announced. In Brookfield, Wayne Pogers was reported missing to police shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 after he had not been seen by his wife for an extended period of time.
