Youngest Wahoos Splash Down in Final Meet

WILTON, Conn. - The Wilton Y Wahoos youngest swimmers made a big splash at the annual end of the season 9-and-under meet held at the Wilton YMCA last weekend.

This marks the end of the short course season for most swimmers. Swimmers ages 6-9 participated in this meet along with teams from around the tri-state area.

The 6-and-under category was lead by Whitney Hess, who won a gold medal in the 25 free, 25 fly, and 25 breast. She also placed third in the 25 back.

Leading the 8-and-under category was Rory Hess who had solid swims to place third in the 25 fly and 25 back and fourth in the 100 IM and 100 free.

Swimmers in the 9-and-under category included Emma Babshack who won the 100 individual medley, 50 fly, 50 back and 50 breast. 

Ellen Holmquist had strong swims and touched first in the 50 free.  She also placed second in both the 100 free and the 50 breast and sixth in the 100 individual medley.

Caroline Hess captured first in the 100 free.  She also placed second in the 50 free and third in both the 50 fly and the 50 breast.  

Catherine Crampton finished strong to place second in both the 100 IM and 50 back, fourth in the 50 breast and fifth in the 50 free. Her sister Caroline Crampton had nice swims to finish third in the 50 fly and fifth in both the 50 back and 100 free.  

Rita Roberts swam to a fourth place finish in the 100 IM and sixth place finish in the 50 fly.  Nate Snyder had strong finishes to place third in the 100 free and fifth in both the 50 free and 50 breast.  

The girls 200 medley relay of Crampton, Hess Babshak and Holmquist captured first, as did the boys 200 medley relay of Welch, Hunt, Snyder and Sicignano.
