Ansonia got into foul trouble early, allowing the Wilton girls to head to the free throw line many times during the first half. Wilton capitalized and scored most of its first half points from the free throw line.
Sophia Strazza led the team with 12 points, Sydney Cummings had 7 and Hannah Belanger added 6. Other scorers included Caroline Coffey (4), Olivia Dexter (3), Bridgette Wall (3), Caty Greer (2), Alex Greer (1), and Kaitlin Reif (1).
It was a team effort hitting the boards hard. Coffey and Cummings both grabbed six each, adding to the team total of 30 rebounds. Wilton's defense came out strong after halftime.
Alex Greer battled hard in the paint with three blocked shots. Strazza helped on defense, grabbing seven steals during the game.
Wilton dominated the second half with the final score 39-33.
