WILTON, Conn. – With participation in the program on the rise, the Wilton Y Wahoos Swim Club recently hired two new coaches, the Y announced.
Matt Hall, a North Carolina native, joins the Wahoos as assistant senior coach. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Hall previously worked as head coach of the Westchester YWCA Middies and head coach of the Rowan YMCA Aquatic Club in North Carolina. He has Level 3 certification from the American Swimming Coaches Association.
David Modzelewski, a University of Connecticut graduate, joins the program as assistant age group coach. After graduating from UConn, Modzelewski earned a masters degree from Sacred Heart University.
Prior to joining the Wahoos, Modzelewski worked as head coach of the Westmoreland Water Wizards, and as an assistant coach at both the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut and the Ridgefield Aquatic Club. He is ASCA Level 2 certified.
“We are excited to have both Matt and Dave as part of our staff,” said Wahoos Head Coach Randy Erlenbach, who is also the Y’s senior director of Aquatics. “Their experience and enthusiasm for the sport of swimming and their commitment to helping young athletes reach their personal potential will greatly enhance our program.”
