WILTON, Conn Wilton sprinters Brynn Parsons and Kafesha Thomas advanced to the finals of the Colgate Womens Games in the 55-meter dash. The girls will compete in the finals Jan. 28 at Madison Square Garden.
Parsons and Thomas run for the Wilton-based Connecticut Elite, which is coached by Wiltons Kevin Foley. Thomas finished fourth in last Fridays semifinals, running 7.44. Parsons finished a step behind her in 7.45.
Runners accumulated points in five races throughout the winter, and the top six advanced to the finals. Thomas has 35 points, fourth among girls in the 55. Parsons has 27.5 points, which placed her sixth.
The runners are believed to be the first girls from Connecticut to reach the finals in a sprint event at the Colgate Womens Games, which includes athletes from New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Long Island.
