WILTON, Conn. Wiltons girls cross country team placed its top five runners just 22 seconds apart en route to a ninth-place finish at Tuesdays State Open cross country meet at Hammonasset State Park in Madison.
The Warriors finished with 277 points. Ridgefield won with 106, while another Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference team, Greenwich, took third with 185.
Alosha Southern finished 62nd overall in 20:17 on the 5k course to lead the Warriors. She was followed by Rebecca Craig (81st, 20:30), Paige Lyons (82nd, 20:31), Gabrielle House (88th, 20:36) and Alexandra Fiesel (93rd, 20:39).
Freshman Spencer Brown finished 155th in 18:14 in the boys race. Complete results are available on www.casciac.org.
