WILTON, Conn. The Wilton High girls basketball team might have picked up its most impressive win yet in the early goings of what seems to be a redefining season for the Warriors. Wilton not only beat perennial powerhouse St. Joseph of Trumbull on Tuesday evening, they crushed the previously undefeated Cadets, 47-28.
Wiltons defense clamped down on the Cadets in the late minutes of the game, holding St. Joseph to just four points in the fourth quarter. Wilton finished the game on a 9-0 run.
Senior Maddy Fulton led the way for Wilton with 15 points. Casey Pearsall contributed nine points with freshman Erin Cunningham adding seven. Kelly Brosko netted six for the Warriors.
Wilton (3-1) plays its annual out-of-conference game against Weston on Tuesday. Tip-off is scheduled at Weston High School for 7 p.m.
