WILTON, Conn. Wiltons Tory Babchak was presented with the Blue Dolphin award by the Connecticut Boat Club at its banquet Sunday at Woodway Country Club in Darien.
The award is presented to the clubs senior rower who has been a leader and an inspiration to others, according to a release from the team. Babchak, a senior at Wilton High School, has been rowing with coach Liz Trond for seven years. Norwalk-based Connecticut Boat Club was established in 2010.
Babchak will continue rowing at Northeastern University. She is part of two crews that won titles last month at the Northeast Regional championships. Connecticut Boat Club finishes its season this weekend at the U.S. Youth Nationals in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
