The Wilton girls, sponsored by Scoops, fought Stamford in a close battle throughout the contest, never leading by more than four points.

Adia Burrows, who also sang the National Anthem before the game, put Wilton up for good in the fourth quarter with an offensive put-back. Hannah Belanger sank an eight-foot jumper with just under two minutes to play to make it a two-possession game for Wilton.

From there, Wilton's defense locked down on Stamford and kept the lead at four until the buzzer sounded.

Olivia Dexter, Alex Greer, Bridgette Wall, Caroline Coffey and Belanger all made key defensive stops against Stamford. Burrows and Sidney Cummings also had key free throws down the stretch to lock up the win.

The Wilton seventh grade girls basketball team finished the 2013-14 season with a 23-7 record, including tournaments.

Wilton is coached by Dan Aspinwall, Stephanie Bousquet and Jared Green.
