WILTON, Conn. – The Wilton sixth-grade boys basketball team, sponsored by Pain and Spine Specialists of CT, swept through a weekend of three games to improve its record to 8-5. Kyle Shifrin added 14 points, Scott Cunningham netted 11, and Joe Murtha contributed seven. Matt Olson had a terrific all-around game with four points, nine rebounds and two steals.

Against Bridgeport-McGivney, all nine Warriors scored and were led by the gritty effort of Shifrin, who had 17 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots. Wilton gave up just five points in the second half on it way to a dominant victory. Brennan Troy had a tremendous game with 14 points, four rebounds, and four steals, while Max Levi helped control the boards with seven big rebounds and four points. The weekend ended with yet another a big win against rival Madison. Both teams got off to a slow start, with the first quarter ending in a 4-4 deadlock. But Wilton’s offense got on track in the final three quarters enroute to a 37–28 victory. Cunningham and Maatallah each scored seven points and had two steals to lead a balanced offense, which included Soucy, Troy and Shifrin each scoring six points.
