WILTON, Conn. – The Miller-Driscoll School Building Committee will be hosting a public information session about renovations planned for the school. The session will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, in the Brubeck Room at the Wilton Library and will include a brief presentation, followed by a question-answer session.
All Wilton residents are invited to attend. The Building Committee was appointed in February 2012 by the Board of Selectmen.
The Board of Selectmen gave the building committee two goals: to extend the life of the school for 25 more years, and to create space that is functional and can accommodate the growing prekindergarten special needs student population.
Other objectives of the project include bringing the facilities up to current code standards, completing the required major infrastructure replacements and upgrades, and improving site circulation and safety.
Future meetings, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 27, will also include a vote on the bond authorization to fund the design, engineering and construction for the school project. Both of these meetings will be at the Clune Center at Wilton High School.
