Wilton To Make Call Friday Morning On School Closing

WILTON, Conn. – A decision on whether to close Wilton schools due to the storm won't be made until Friday morning.

Molly Rollison, administrative assistant to Superintendent Gary Richards, said no decision had been made Thursday. A call on closing schools is usually made by Richards early in the morning, she said.

Wilton schools have already lost seven days to weather cancellations this school year. Six were lost in October and November due to Hurricane Sandy. Changes made to the school calendar have the school year ending on June 19. If classes are canceled on Friday, the school year will conclude on June 20. Amendments to the 2012-13 calendar also mean schools will be in session from Feb. 20 to 22, originally the final three days of the February break.
