WILTON, Conn. - Nine Middlebrook School students received Connecticut Scholastic Art awards - more awards than any other middle school in the state.
Judges reviewed more than 1,500 works of art from about 130 Connecticut schools, home-school groups and other organizations.
The winning Middlebrook students are Albert Cai, Sean Cunningham, Jeromy DiGiacomo, Katie Kandiew, Sadaf Khan, Dean Kim, Emmy Miller, Sarah Perry and Julia Siewert. The students entered works in the design, drawing, film and animation, mixed media and painting categories.
The awards will be presented at 2 p.m. on Jan. 29 at the University of Hartford's Lincoln Theater. The winning works will be on display at the university's Silpe Gallery from Jan. 15 to Feb. 3. The gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and weekends, noon to 5 p.m.
