WILTON, Conn. -- Wilton High School is recognizing 26 students who have been named Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.
These Commended Students placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
The Commended Students are: Albert C. Cai, Kevin M. Chabrier, Kevin M. Collins, Elliot N. Connors, Andrew Floyd, Shannon T. Golden, Jack W. Heinemann, Christina N. Holmgren, Jessica G. Huffman, Daniel P. Jensen, Katherine D. Kenneally, Dean K. Kim, Jessica E. Kobsa, Mariana Lebrija, Ashley Y. Li, Claire McCullough, Theodore Molina, Andrew C. Murphy, Riley D. Nichols, Ilana R. Olin, Matthew K. Ravichandran, Joseph W. Saldutti, Catherine M. Sanna, Alexander M. Scaperotta, Maya L. Seshan, Jacob C. Zellmer.
The mission of National Merit Scholarship Corp. is to recognize and honor the academically talented students of the United States. NMSC accomplishes its mission by conducting nationwide academic scholarship programs. The enduring goals of NMSC's scholarship programs are:
- To promote a wider and deeper respect for learning in general and for exceptionally talented individuals in particular
- To shine a spotlight on brilliant students and encourage the pursuit of academic excellence at all levels of education
- To stimulate increased support from organizations that wish to sponsor scholarships for outstanding scholastic talent
