WILTON, Conn. -- Wilton State Sen. Toni Boucher (R-26th) is getting support in her re-election bid from the Weston and Redding Republican Town committees.

Members of the committees are giving unanimous commitments to Boucher, who has held the seat since 2008, according to a press release. Boucher received more votes than any sitting senator in the 2012 election. Her district includes all of Wilton, Westport, Redding, Ridgefield and parts of New Canaan, Weston and Bethel, according to the release.

“I am humbled and inspired by the continuing support of Republicans throughout the 26th district,” Boucher said, “I am looking forward to continuing to work with members of both parties to strengthen our great state.”

Boucher has "devoted her legislative career to education reform and vehemently opposes Governor Malloy’s efforts toward regionalization," according to the release. Boucher is the co-chair of the senate’s School Safety Working Group.

“I will be focusing not only on my own re-election campaign, but also on helping other Republicans to be elected to statewide office and to the General Assembly,” Boucher said.
