The delegates, who were selected at the committee's March 22 meeting, will cast votes for Republican candidates to appear on the November ballot.

The nominating conventions and participating delegates are:

  • 143rd Assembly District Convention (seat currently held by Rep. Gail Lavielle). The convention date is May 16 with delegates Eric Cameron, Hella McSweeney, Miriam Sayegh and Peter Wrampe.
  • 125th Assembly District Convention (seat currently held by Rep. Tom O’Dea). The convention date is May 16 with delegates Michelle Battaglia, Jerry Holdridge and Michael Kaelin.
  • 26th Senate District Convention (seat currently held by Senator Toni Boucher.) The convention date is May 11 with delegates Eric Cameron, Jerry Holdridge, Michael Kaelin, Hella McSweeney, Miriam Sayegh, Warren Serenbetz and Peter Wrampe.
  • The State Convention date is May 9 for the nomination of candidates to run for the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. The delegates are Al Alper, Joshua Cole, Marianne Gustafson, Michael Kaelin, Phillip Murphy, Edward Papp, Andrea Preston and Tracy Serpa.

“Our delegates will have a role in choosing Republican candidates to represent Wilton in Hartford and in Washington,” said Wilton Republican Town Committee Chairman Al Alper. “At the state level, we will be returning Reps. Lavielle and O’Dea, along with Sen. Boucher, who have been leaders in promoting pro-business, responsible solutions to try and reverse our state’s downward economic spiral."

“And at the federal level, Connecticut has been ill-served by an all-Democrat Congressional delegation. Our House members, along with Senators Blumenthal and Murphy, have been willing participants in President (Barack) Obama’s failed economic agenda that have hurt the very people they promised to help," Alper added.
