WILTON, CONN. -- Wilton’s Deborah McFadden got a boost recently when U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy backed her bid in the town’s race for first selectman.
McFadden, a resident of Wilton for almost 18 years, is currently filling out Ted Hoffstatter’s unexpired term on the Board of Selectmen. She has served as vice chair of the Wilton Democratic Town Committee since 2003.
She is vying with Republican Lynne Vanderslice for the first selectman post in the Nov. 3 municipal elections.
Murphy, D-Conn., said he met with McFadden during a recent visit to Wilton and the two discussed important local issues.
“While listening to the community, Deb will give Wilton a fresh leadership voice that will be heard not only in Wilton but throughout our state,” Murphy said, adding that “the people of Wilton will be fortunate to benefit from her vision and commitment.”
