A 50-year-old woman has been charged after police say she was found passed out in a cul de sac in Wilton while under the influence.

Wilton Police say a silver 2019 BMW was located in the cul de sac of Horseshoe Road on Sunday, Nov. 24 around 12:45 a.m.

The vehicle was running with the lights on and the driver’s side door completely open, according to police.

An unconscious woman was also seen in the driver’s seat with the seatbelt buckled, police say.

Officers allegedly awoke the driver, later identified as Wendy Hubbert Lamantia, 50, of Wilton.

Officers also allegedly observed an empty beer can in the vehicle’s cup holder and detected a strong odor of alcohol.

While talking with Lamantia, police say she showed signs of intoxication and was unaware of where she was, what time it was or why she was there.

Lamantia was subsequently asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which police say she did not pass.

A full search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 17 blue and white capsule pills, which police say were later identified as a Schedule II controlled substance.

Lamantia was arrested, transported and processed at headquarters, where police say her blood-alcohol level was tested at .1982.

Lamantia was charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and failure to keep narcotics in their original container. She was released after posting a $260 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday, Dec. 5.
