WILTON, Conn. – A 38-year-old Bethel woman, who police said was three times over the legal blood-alcohol limit, was charged with drunken driving in Wilton last week after she got into an accident on Danbury Road.
The two-car accident happened near 84 Danbury Road last Wednesday night. When police arrived, Kimberly Layden, one of the drivers, smelled of alcohol, police said. As a result, she was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which she failed, police said.
The result of her breath test was 0.24, which is three-times over the legal limit of 0.08.
Because Layden had a passenger in her car under 18, she was charged with risk of injury to a minor in addition to driving under the influence. She was also charged with following too closely.
She was released on a promise to appear in court April 15.
