Woman Charged In Wilton After YMCA Building Hit

WILTON, Conn. – A one-time Wilton resident who town police accused of driving her car into a Wilton YMCA building is facing a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Marie Levy, 48, who had no known address, was charged Aug. 2 with DUI, a misdemeanor.

Police said they received a call at about 12:48 a.m. about a car crashing into a building at the Wilton YMCA. Police said the woman was driving her Volvo station wagon from the south employee lot to the main parking lot when she turned right and failed to stop in the parking space near the Wilton Wahoo lifeguard shack building. Police said the car drove through the fence and into the north corner of the building, causing significant damage, including a sink in the men’s bathroom getting knocked off the wall.

Police said Levy had a blood-alcohol content of .122 when she was tested by officers.

Levy was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear Monday in Norwalk Superior Court.
