WILTON, Conn. – Three home burglaries were reported in Wilton over the course of two days last week in the area of Ridgefield Road, Grey Rocks Road and Spectacle Lane, according to police.
On June 11, a resident of a home on Ridgefield Road, near Bald Hill Road, called police to report seeing an unknown man inside the home, police said.
The resident, who was upstairs at the time the suspect entered the home, told police she saw a thin, white male at the base of the stairs. The man was described as having grey hair and being between 50 and 60 years old, police said.
Upon seeing the woman, the suspect left the home, police said. Nothing was reported taken. The incident occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. and the suspect is believed to have entered the home through an unlocked door, police said.
A few hours later, police were called to a home on Grey Rocks Road to investigate another burglary complaint. In this case, assorted jewelry was reported stolen from the home, police said.
The burglary is believed to have occurred sometime between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. that day, police said. The suspect in this incident is also believed to have entered the home through an unlocked door, according to the police report.
On June 12, police received a call from the resident of a Spectacle Lane home who reported jewelry had been stolen from their bedroom, police said. This burglary is believed to have occurred sometime between 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday and noon Wednesday, and the suspect may have entered the home through an unlocked window, the report said.
Police are investigating a possible connection between these incidents. Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area or who may have information is asked to call the police at 203-834-6260.
