WILTON, Conn. A New York man is facing forgery and larceny charges after Wilton Police said they found him with counterfeit money.
Jorge Cedeno, 30, of Uniondale, N.Y., was charged with first-degree forgery, a felony, sixth-degree larceny and sixth-degree attempted larceny, both misdemeanors.
Police said someone from a business on Route 7 called them at about 2 p.m. Friday to say someone had tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill. Police said they stopped Cedeno at Wheels on Route 7 in Wilton and found he had 31 $100 bills that were not genuine. Police said Cedeno did spend one of the phony bills at a business in Norwalk.
Cedeno was held on $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear on Oct. 22 in Norwalk Superior Court.
