The homeowner and his family were still in the home at the time, and reported that they had seen someone outside the house with tools in his hand. He had broken several windows in an attempt to get into the house, police said.

Owen was charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, second-degree breach of peace, possession of burglar's tools and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on a $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
