Wilton Man Facing Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

WILTON, Conn., -- A Wilton man's erratic driving early Friday morning led to him being arrested on drug charges, Wilton police said.

Peter Russo, 26, of 419 Belden Hill Road, was arrested just before 2 a.m. after police said they noticed a motorist driving over the double yellow line on Ridgefield Road near Center Street. Police charged him with driving under the influence and during a search of the vehicle allegedly discovered 5 ounces of marijuana packaged and ready for sale, $960 in cash and equipment used to package controlled substances.

Russo was charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to drive right.

Russo posted a $2,500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 4.
