Wilton Bicyclist Hospitalized After Being Hit By Norwalk Transit Bus

WILTON, Conn. — A 22-year-old Wilton man was hospitalized Wednesday evening after he was struck by a Norwalk Transit District bus while riding his bicycle, police said.

The accident happened at about 5:10 p.m. on Route 7, just south of Arrowhead Road, Lt. Donald Wakeman said. The bus, driven by a 52-year-old man, was traveling north in the right lane when it made contact with the bicyclist, who was riding in the northbound shoulder, Wakeman said.

The bicyclist was knocked to the ground and was later transported to Norwalk Hospital by Wilton EMS, Wakeman said. As of Friday, the extent of the man’s injuries was unknown and the case remained open pending further investigation, Wakeman said.
