Police: Wilton Man Arrested In Confrontation With Daughter's Boss

WILTON, Conn. – A 52-year-old Wilton man was arrested Tuesday night and charged with breach of peace after he was accused of pushing the manager at Swizzles Frozen Yogurt, where his daughter is an employee, police said.

Charles Schneider, of Pelham Lane, believed his daughter was being harassed by the manager, police said. This prompted Schneider to go to the store to confront the manager, according to the police report.

When Schneider arrived at the shop at 5 River Road, he walked behind the counter and pushed the manager, causing the manager to hit a wall and fall to the ground, the police report said. Schneider is accused of then yelling at the manager, police said.

Schneider originally told police that he tripped over a mop bucket in the store, which caused him to bump into the manager, the police report said. However, after officers reviewed the store’s surveillance footage of the incident, Schneider admitted to having pushed the manager, police said.

Schneider was released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on July 26.
