Police: Suicide Attempt Thwarted In Wilton Park

WILTON, Conn. – A 52-year-old woman who police believe was attempting to commit suicide was rescued Thursday night in Merwin Meadows Park by Wilton emergency personnel, police said.

At about 9 p.m., police received a call from a person reporting that a friend may have tried to harm herself, police said. The caller told police they believed the woman was at Merwin Meadows Park on Lovers Lane, police said.

When officers arrived at the park, they found an unoccupied vehicle that belonged to the victim, police said. With help from Wilton K9 Enzo, officers found the woman in the east side of the park with a “severe laceration wound,” police said.

Officers began treating the woman’s wound, and she was later transported to Norwalk Hospital by Wilton EMS, police said.

With help from firefighters, the object used to cause the woman’s wound was later found in the park, police said.
