WILTON, Conn. — A 23-year-old Norwalk woman, who worked at the T.J. Maxx in Wilton, turned herself in to Wilton police on a warrant that charged her with stealing from the store, police said.
Jacqueline Greene, of South Main Street, is accused of making 14 fraudulent store returns over a five-month period, police said.
On March 20, the store manager at T.J. Maxx, 14 Danbury Road, contacted police to report that Greene had falsely obtained refunds by returning merchandise she never purchased, police said. The manager provided police with 14 receipts showing Greene’s returns, the first of which was dated Nov. 15, police said.
Through the scam, Greene obtained more than $300, police said. She turned herself in on a warrant last Friday and was charged with 14 counts of sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. She was released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on April 22.
