Norwalk Man Charged With DUI During Wilton Traffic Stop

WILTON, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was charged with driving under the influence after running a red light at the intersection of Danbury Road and School Street in Wilton last month, according to the Wilton Bulletin.

Police said told the Wilton Bulletin that when they stopped Michael Papp, 24, of Norwalk, on Jan. 23, the smell of alcohol was evident. After failing a series of field sobriety tests, he was taken into custody, the Wilton Bulletin reported. 

A breath test showed Papp's blood alcohol concentration at 0.0411, according to the Wilton Bulletin. The legal limit is 0.08. Toxicology reports are pending, said the Wilton Bulletin.

In addition to DUI, Pappa was charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to obey a traffic signal, and failure to carry proof of insurance, according to the Wilton Bulletin. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 2, added the Wilton Bulletin.
