A New Canaan Police patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling south on South Avenue on Friday, March 8 around 6 a.m.
A check of the license plate through COLLECT resulted in the officer’s discovery of a warrant for the owner’s arrest.
The officer then conducted a vehicle stop and determined that 37-year-old Jennifer Kulowiec (the registered owner and the subject of the warrant) was the passenger of the vehicle.
The warrant stemmed from an incident on October 1, 2018 that occurred at New Norwalk Road and Carter Street. Police say blood results determined that Kulowiec was in violation of the following charges:
- Illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs
- Failure to drive upon right
Kulowiec was taken into custody, processed and released on a PTA. She is scheduled to return to court on Friday, March 22.
