WILTON, Conn. A 34-year-old Brookfield woman was charged with risk of injury to a child in Wilton Monday night after police said she was found to be driving drunk with her 4-year-old daughter in the car.
Cathryn Almonte was driving north on Danbury Road when she was spotted drifting in between the two northbound traffic lanes, police said. When stopped, the officer smelled alcohol on Almontes breath, according to the police report.
Almonte failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breath test, police said. She was charged with risk of injury to a minor, a felony, and driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. She was also charged with making an unsafe lane change.
She was released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on June 6.
