Ahmed I Sambo, 42, was arrested Monday, March 18, after officers with the Greenwich Police Narcotic Section conducted an investigation into a suspected drug dealer living in Greenwich, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz.

On Monday, officers executed a search warrant on Sambo’s residence and vehicle. Among the items seized was approximately 20 grams of suspected cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and numerous items associated with the weighing, concealing, storage, and packaging of narcotics for sale, he said.

Officers also seized $7,000 in cash.

Sambo was charged with operating a drug factory, sale/possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession with intent to sell, illegal possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana greater than a half-ounce, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was unable to meet a $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March 19, Slusarz said.

"Greenwich Police continue to focus enforcement efforts on those who sell and deal drugs within our community," he said. "We also partner with other stakeholders in the community to collaboratively address the crisis of drug addiction through education, access to treatment options, and advocacy."
