Two Bridgeport men were nabbed by Wilton police for possession of a less than a half-ounce of pot during a traffic stop because the color of the vehicle did not match the plate.
The two, Jonathan Cespedes and Jimmy Rivera, were issued infractions after police made the stop on Wednesday, Jan. 9 on Danbury Road, said the Wilton Police.
When stopped, Cespedes told officers the DMV had made an error in inputting the color when issuing his registration and a check of the vehicle ID number showed that the numbers did match the vehicle. But while stopped, officers noticed a smell of marijuana and asked where it was.
Cespedes handed the officers a small container and then the vehicle was searched with a K-9 dog which found two additional containers.
Both men were released and given a future court date.
