Millicent H. Kessler, 75, Of Ridgewood

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Millicent H. Kessler, of Ridgewood, died Nov. 30. She was 75.

She was the younger of two daughters born and raised in Scarsdale, N/Y. She raised her family in Ridgewood before retiring to Scottsdale, Ariz. 

As a young mother, she was involved as a classroom mom at Travell School and enjoyed her children’s Girl and Boy Scouts' activities, softball and baseball games. Throughout her life, she enjoyed painting, gardening, making ceramic pottery, playing Bridge and reading. In 2011, she returned to New Jersey to be closer to family. 

She is survived by daughters, Wendy Darcy (Sean), Laura Nagy, son Bill Jr.; eight grandchildren; and sister, Sally Short (Phil). 

She was predeceased by her husband, Bill; and daughter, Amy Neuenhaus. 

A memorial gathering will be conducted from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 with a noon service at Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Ave., Ridgewood. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Caring Voice Coalition, a 501(c)(3) organization.
