WILTON, Conn. - Ida Anzalone Clarkin Hynes of Wilton died March 31. She was 94.
Hynes was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Orange, N.J., to Frank and Clementina Morelli Anzalone from Minturno, Italy. She then moved to Norwalk. She attended Norwalk school and graduated from Norwalk high school in February 1938. She attended all of the class reunions until 2009.
She moved to California in 1964 after living in Bridgeport, with her second husband John Hynes for many years. In California, she worked for Stanford University Hospital until she retired.
She was a celebrated Avon Representative for over 40 years. In the 40 years she lived in Palo Alto, Calif., she was the wedding coordinator for her Church of the Nativity in Menlo Park, Calif., and also brought communion to nursing homes in the area. She returned to Connecticut in 2005 and took up residence at the Brookdale Place of Wilton. She lived there until September 2012, after which she moved to Wilton Meadows.
Hynes is survived by her niece, Barbara Dobson (Bob Toth); nephew, Joseph Fanali (Ruth) from Calif.; sister-in-law, Gertrude Anzalone; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Clayton and John Anzalone; sisters, Rose Galano and Mary Fanali; and husband, William Clarkin.
Calling hours are Sunday, April 6 from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7 at St. Mary Church, 669 West Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y.
