Frances Ford Hills, 96, Longtime Wilton Resident, Owned Antiques Business

WILTON, Conn. - Frances Ford Hills, longtime resident of Wilton, died Wednesday, July 10. She was 96.

Hills spent her childhood years in Owenton, Ky., where she grew up. She began coming to Wilton in 1935 when she was 18 years old. She visited and worked for her uncle and aunt who owned Hawkstone Antiques, located in the home that she and her husband, Arthur later purchased. She lived in her home over 60 years, where she and Arthur had an antiques business.

Hills was a member of the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield for over 50 years, and was active in Family and Children's Aid Services.

Hills is survived by her daughter Lynne, of Ridgefield; sisters, Alice Stein of Atlanta, Ga., Sarita Ford of Mulberry, Fla., Elizabeth Tanner of Cynthiana, Ky.; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Interment will be private.

Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association or a charity of your choice.  

The Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street; Ridgefield, CT. is in charge of arrangements.
