WILTON, Conn. - Christine Dartley of Wilton died Nov. 26. She was 77.
Dartley was born April 17, 1936, in Chicago, Ill., to John and Claire Johnson Nordstrom. She lived in Chicago and then St. Louis until her family finally settled in Auburn Mass., where she graduated from Auburn High School. She worked for Pan Am Airways in New York. She was a longtime member of the Board and the historian for the Fairfield County Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America.
Dartley is survived by her husband, Kenneth James Dartley; son, Kenneth Anders Dartley (Erin); a grandson; sister, Kay Baker of Dennis, Mass.; and many nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Gretchen Anderson of California.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Wilton Presbyterian Church, 48 New Canaan Road, Wilton, Connecticut (203) 762-5514, with a short reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wilton Historical Society, 224 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897 for programs and activities encompassing embroidery and other needle arts in conjunction with the Fairfield County Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America or to a charity of your choice.
