Wilton Y Locker Burglary Leads The Week In News

WILTON, Conn. – Wilton police sought the public's help this past week in identifying a man they believe broke into a locker at the Wilton YMCA. Here’s a look at this and other top news from the week.

? A wallet containing $15 in cash and two credit cards was stolen from a locked locker at the Wilton YMCA the previous week. Police on Tuesday released a surveillance photo of the suspect asking for the public’s help in identifying the man.

? On Friday afternoon, the town received good economic news. Gov. Dannel Malloy announced that Cannondale Sports Unlimited, a bike-manufacturing company, is relocating its headquarters to Wilton this year and bringing 75 new jobs to town. After outgrowing its current headquarters in Bethel, the company leased about 50,000 square feet of space in Wilton’s I-Park and expects to open this fall.

? Wilton residents are preparing to host the town's sixth-annual Pantene Beautiful Lengths hair donation event. A national initiative, the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program encourages people to grow, cut and donate their healthy hair to be made into wigs for women undergoing cancer treatments. The Wilton event will be held May 17 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Wilton High School in conjunction with Relay for Life.
