Wilton White U-11 Soccer Team Falls To Norwalk

WILTON, N.Y. -- The  Wilton White U-11 soccer team had a long day in its recent 8-2 loss to Norwalk.

Before the crowd even had time to settle into their seats this past Sunday at Allen’s Meadow, Catalina King buried a shot deep in the Norwalk goal giving White a very early 1-0 lead.

Lilly Byrnes played well in net, maintaining the lead for the first 20 minutes until Norwalk evened the match.

Wilton immediately countered with a furious and relentless offensive attack led by Sam Nichols, Brielle Flavin, Maddie Pfeiffer and Peyton Gildersleeve but were repeatedly denied by a stout Norwalk defense until just before the half, when Marygrace DelliSanti connected from 30 feet from the far right side.

The tightly contested match was even at two at the half, but Norwalk broke out with six straight second-half goals that led to the lopsided final score.
