WILTON, Conn. An arrest was made last week in the theft last month of $600 at the Wilton Stop & Shop.
Susanne Cuomo-Smith, a store employee, turned herself in to the Wilton Police Department on Monday, Dec. 12. Police said Cuomo-Smith was given an envelope left by a customer that contained a significant amount of cash. It was left for a brief period, and when returned the envelope was short $600.
Cuomo-Smith is due in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday, Dec. 22.
Also from the police blotter:
- Wilton Meadows has reported receiving between 60-70 hang-up calls. The calls came from a number with the Texas area code 214.
- A harassment call was made from Jamaica to a residence on Bryants Brook Road requesting that $2,000 be sent in lieu of a supposed owed debt of $850,000.
- More mailboxes were reported damaged by residents on Deer Run Road and Spectacle Lane. A resident on Spectacle Lane reported seeing a 3 Series BMW that may have been involved in the damages.
Wilton Police Lt. Donald Wakeman encouraged residents to report incidents as soon as possible so police can find those responsible.
