? Mary Beth Greer, a junior at Wilton high School, was preparing to compete in the USRowing Youth National Championships on Saturday in Tennessee. The teen rower already has one medal from the championships, which she won last year.
? Black bears made the news on more than one occasion. A black bear was spotted roaming the streets in the northeast area of Westport last weekend. Then on Tuesday, a black bear cub was spotted in a tree in downtown Danbury. The cub was safely brought down from the tree by authorities and moved to a forest.
? A 50-year-old Wilton man and former real estate attorney was recently sentenced to 30 months in a federal prison for his role in a $4 million Fairfield County mortgage fraud scheme.
